Time goes by...

...so slowly.

Hiya again.

So the fall semester can NOT get here fast enough. This will be my 5th college semester and the start of my last year until I receive my (pre-requisite) AA Degree. When I say pre-requisite I mean that I must complete my AA with a few specific classes to be eligible for entry into a specific Bachelors program. That Bachelors program happens to be for Elementary Education.Wanting to be an Elementary school teacher eludes to many facts about myself.

Remember in the early Elementary school years, when going to class was fun and exciting? Everyday seemed more like "coloring day" or "lets glue noodles and other odd things onto paper" day instead of actually feeling like tedious busy work (as middle school and high school will feel like). Now I'm not 'post elem' grade school but it did feel like no matter how many different teachers and subjects I was "subjected" to, I wasn't really learning anything new. Everything was repeating, except now with a more extensive vocabulary. Yet as my $5 words evolved into $20 words, it seemed my actual knowledge was shrinking. Ever watch that show "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?". Yeah. Kinda like that.

Did we really retain that much insightful information when we we only ten? I struggled to even care about even simpler topics in High school- and even now. What I'm getting at is that I think many people lose the urge to learn after the Elementary school years because of the lack of creative teaching styles for older students. Making things into games and fun projects keeps young minds hooked in a society that basically teaches kids to hate school in general (coughstandardizedtestingcough).

I would like to say that I am a creative person. I love to draw, paint, and write. I also live by a few set-in-stone standards. The one for this situation being

"Be the change you want to see in the World."

I wish to inspire young minds and teach them that you can change the world. I want to know that I am making a difference for the future of this world. What is school if not an institute raising world soveriegns. Teachers are teaching you and your children to rule the world one day- to inevitably take over for the older generation. I firmly believe that the future really does start with the children. I mean it can be hard to undo years of societital mind beatings and safe routines. People like me can only go so Green. I can only work with the tools available to me- and I wish to provide more tools to children, making their horizons that much broader.

Plus, I want to color, play games, and have all summer off as well. So win/win.
